So my husband and I decided to be tourists and walk around paris. We found le first on lafourchette.com 50% off the menu so we decided to go. It is located inside the Westin hotel next to place vendome.
Atmosphere (3/4):
To my surprise there was an outdoor courtyard inside the hotel which was where the restaurant was. Absolutely lovely. It was very calm and romantic.
Service (1.5/4):
Well we were greeted promptly and directed to our seats without any wait..and then we waited…
When we were greeted with our server he played with the menus and acted very nonchalant. Didn’t really care for it. Then we had a different server and I assumed that his lack of service was because his shift was over. My husband didn’t appreciate the fact that although he spoke to them in French they responded in english..haha.
But overall the wait time was extremely long for the amount of staff and lack of customers
Food (2/4):
For a starter I had tempura vegetables. It came with mustard sauce on the side. I thought it was an interesting combination and the presentation was nice. I liked the bowl that it came in. The vegetables were really fresh.
For the main course I had cod fish with herb salad an andouillette sausage and potatoes. It was a really surprising combination with the fish and the sausage. It was fine, didn’t blow my socks off. I felt the sausage overpowered the rest oh the dish. I didn’t really like the presentation logistic wise.
For dessert I had a lemon and lime tart cheesecake with goji berries.
It hurt me to eat it so I’ll write down my husbands take on it. He liked it a lot and the presentation was good.
For me the cheesecake was not cheesecake and the goji berries were too tart and I didnt taste the lemon or lime at all. Sad to say the first dessert I did not finish
Overall it was a good experience. Loved the outdoor setting everything else was satisfactory
Overall score: 6.5/12
